Wow. What an awesome moment in dragon history!! Dean and the crew should be proud. It's beaten many classics such as "the lion king" and "toy story", not to mention the overrated "frozen". It's truly worthy of this title. I also believe its around the top 200 in the highest rated films of all time. Dragons 2: "step aside other films, make way for the masterpiece!"
^_^ ;) :D :$ :P 8) :'( :( ^) :O  >:( <3 <- me seeing httyd 2

I don't want to be too negative, but I think it will most likely drop over time as more people see it and rate it. It's a good movie, but I really don't think it's the second best animated movie of all-time. I didn't personally think it was better than the first one.
Come death. Come suffering. I will not live in fear. In this fleeting life where time escapes us, the path of least resistance is a slow quiet death. I'd rather burn out than fade away.

Well both were extremely different but it does seem a bit unfair as the first was equally brilliant

And there went my faith in humanity (though how this thing keeps resurrecting itself is beyond me). Come on, HTTYD 2 is good, but not that good. I can literally reach to my side, without even getting out of my chair, and pull out a better animated movie that is not Spirited Away (note to self: watch Spirited Away). Hopefully, all we're seeing here is the standard fanboy hype that's probably common for movie franchises with a diehard fanbase.
Number of times I've watched the trailer: 18.

My pet peeve: people who refer to complete strangers by their first name. The correct ways to refer to a "John Smith" whom you have never met are Smith, Mr Smith, or John Smith. Not "John". He's not your buddy.

The first should rightfully be the best animated movie ever. Dragons 2 might have been better than the first, until Hiccup just HAD to give that final "This is Berk" narration.

JMO, Grave of the Fireflies should be #1. Haven't been that emotional while watching very many films PERIOD, let alone an animated film.
Hiccup: Dragons are kind, amazing creatures that can bring people together
Drago: Or tear them apart...

...and one other reason

The only time I watched Grave of the Fireflies it was a really awful fan-dub, which more or less ruined it for me. I might actually get it on DVD and revisit it to see if I like it with subtitles.
I don't have a signature, see?

IMO HTTYD1 is a better movie per se; due to the great pacing and emotional journey. However, HTTYD2 has much more rewatch value due to the lack of emotional conflict and more "fun" scenes. In fact, I think the rushed story of HTTYD2 further adds to the rewatch value, because you miss so many things and you notice something new even after several viewings. I think HTTYD1 should deserve the 2nd place, with HTTYD2 close behind. I haven't seen Spirited Away though.
Witness true strength! Strength of LOVE for others; in the face of it, you are nothing.

Suck it, Frozen! 8)
My other fandoms summed up in gifs:

"You have the heart of a Hiro and the soul of a Tadashi."
