If you really love the franchise from the bottom of your heart, don't sign and try to force DreamWorks Animation to make a definite ending! If you love this franchise then you TRUST the writers that they will make the best ending for the franchise (and not for us!). And besides: If you force them to make a definite ending than you create yourself a Major Spoiler! |

Of course it's your decision if you sing it or not and I accept it. But I think that you twice before you sign. To be honest: I don't care if it is the best or not for the fandom, for me or for anyone. I care if it's best for the franchise, I trust Dean and all of DreamWorks Animation, that they will do what is the best for the franchise. And I think in the end of the franchise they will explain, why there are no dragons anymore. No matter how they will let it end, I believe that they will make it |

I can understand why so many people want this petition signed (I've even opened this up when I first saw it with all intents to sign it) because we've all grown so attached to Toothless and Hiccup's friendship. But I feel what makes this franchise so amazing is that apart from the character development and personal growths, Dean Deblois is amazing at creating emotional scenes. We've definitely seen emotional scenes in HTTYD2, and as depressed as it got us, it worked. If the director wants to end this amazing franchise with Toothless and Hiccup eventually having to be separated, I don't doubt that he'll do it in the best way possible. It may be bittersweet, it definitely will be emotional, but he'll make it work. I'm not saying that you shouldn't sign this, but before you sign it (if you haven't) maybe try to trust that Dean will deliver the best ending to this story, no matter which turn he takes. |

As important HTTYD is to me, there are far more problems in the world that are much more important. In other words, this issue is not worthy of a petition at all. Petitions like these are meant for real problems. I'm fine with Hiccup and Toothless separating, because that ending is natural and would be more Httyd-like. Considering what Dean did with the 2 movies, Im dying to see what Dean has in mind ( making Toothless kill Stoick was a ridiculously brave decision, and boy it did pay off ). Moreover, it would prevent any future sequels or reboots or what not that might spoil the franchise. |
