There are really interesting ideas and rumours out here, and many of you guys assume that Toothless will split up and leave Berk to live somewhere else.

But..

What if Toothless died?

In the end of HTTYD3, to be clear.
Maybe in such a sad way that's good for the story and that will rip the feelings out of your body..
Doubt it, wasn't the second confirmed as the saddest? I'm sure Toothless dying would be too much feels for everyone. :'( Which is kinda nice because Stoick dying was sad enough as it is. :O
Yea I heard about the second being the saddest before as if it's official, but is there any source where I can read that? I'd like to see it for myself if you get what I mean.

I agree though that another sad scene might be too much.. But I think that in httyd3 there should still be consequences for actions of what the characters do. Such as hiccups leg and Stoicks death. That is something what partially defines httud for me, at least the movies. Depth, consequences and a unique and compelling story. What I really want to see is more of Berk and the life there, we got none of that in httyd2.. But we'll have to see what story Dean comes up with.

Srry for typo's, wrote this on my phone.
It was actually here in the grapevine, on a page not many cared to read due to major spoilers just before the movie released. Its called "Dragons 2 Interview: 'The Darkest One in the Series' " scroll to the bottom of the page "interviews on the main grapevine, you'll see it. If not, here is the link.

Note: Might be worth reading the whole thing again now that the movie is out.

Hmmmm i dunno. Being dark and being sad are different i guess?

I'm really really REALLY curious about how Dean is going to end the trilogy...I think he has a lot of ideas, and to culminate them all in one movie seems a daunting task! He has a lot of stuff to cover up! Hiccup-Toothless, Hiccup-Valka, Hiccup-Astrid, Eret, Drago and any other characters that may come into play..
I just hope he does not separate them simply because he wants the book and the movie endings to match. I would really like a really good reason..because i'm really sure Toothless would never leave Hiccup after all they both have been through.

You know, this reminded me, there hasn't been any more word of a possible fourth movie in a while. I guess that means they've decided against it?

My other fandoms summed up in gifs:

"You have the heart of a Hiro and the soul of a Tadashi."

I agree. Their parting shouldn't look 'forced' or 'intended'. At least for me, when a movie has a scene where you can just feel that they want you to feel something instead of doing it more in a natural way, it may reach the opposite effect. HTTYD 1, 2 and hopefully 3 don't have this. The movies feel so.. natural. Especially the first one.
Um.. Hi?

Wow!

The first one obviously had the benefit of being the first in the trilogy, as well as being what it was. :P

Obviously, but there Hiccup was well.. Hiccup, and we got to see a lot of Berk pre-dragons, which was also really cool. And the Red Death battle was glorious, and IMO ten times better than the battle between Toothless versus Drago's Bewilderbeast. Toothless should've used his divebombing attacks. Combine that with the powerfull glowing shots and no shotlimit as well as his updated back thingies.. He would obliterate that Bewilderbeast, instead of being lame and just make the other dragons scurry him away..
Um.. Hi?

Wow!

Well maybe there'll be some ultimate kick-ass in the third movie, maybe Drago will get ultimately wrecked, as long as it makes sense and whoever deserves to get shreked gets shreked the way they should get shreked, it would be great. ;)

How about Fishlegs' "I'm okay! Less okay...." Everybody's expecting the "Less okay" that never comes. So is Fishlegs possibly going to be "less okay" in movie 3? What happens to Fishlegs?
Not really story related, but I am watching HTTYD 1 in the background. As soon as I read that line here, it came on in the film... Fun!
I HAVE RETURNED!
