Astrid never once bullied Hiccup during the course of the entire film. She ignored him, yes. But never bullied him like Snotlout has been shown to do. |

Punching a person and holding an axe to their throat can't be considered bullying??? She also called him names and insulted his capability. She bullied him far worse in the movie than Snotlout did. |

No actually I wouldn't call any of her actions bullying. Firstly they were all one offs, bullying requires it to be repeatedly done. Secondly, I believe she had good reasoning behind every action. For example, in the arena when she has a go at him, perfectly valid response seeing as he nearly got them both killed by Stormfly. Or when she bent his arm back, he was grabbing her, clearly trying to hide some be secret behind how he magically got better than her (remember, she's competitive so she'll want to know how Hiccup got so good) And the punching incident, he did just pick her up and drop her on top of a tree. She never makes harsh comments about Hiccup. Not when he appeared for training, and not at the beginning of the film either. Unlike the others. Hell, she doesn't even laugh when they make those comments. |

I disagree. I believe her actions can be seen as bullying. She was a jerk to him, plain and simple. And I'm not thinking about the part after the Nadder attack. Her "No one gets as good as you do...especially you" comment comes to mind, her implication that she thinks of him as inept and stupid. She abused him. Punched him moments after he woke from a coma. That's bullying, in my opinion. As for "reasoning" I'm sure people have had far more reasons to hurt someone and have restrained because that's the decent thing to do. |

...When was the last time you watched the film? She kissed him IMMEDIATELY after punching him. So how the heck is that bullying? I'd happily let my life long crush punch me if it meant I got a kiss straight after like that! Coma or no coma! It's been clearly show that Astrid punching Hiccup is a sign of her affection, especially seeing as she always kisses him after... |

Well I still disagree. That's one of my least favorite moments in the film. I don't see how a kiss makes what she did all that better. All she did there was assert herself as the alpha in their relationship, and I personally find it a tad gross. But oh well. We can't all think the same. |

Snotlout. I would've picked Astrid if she was on cause Nadders are my favourite dragons besides Night Fury and Skrill. But after that, it's Monstrous Nightmare. Even though Snotlout's annoying and arrogant, he's............... Okayyyy, can't think of any explanations. Sorry, Snotlout. |

Personally, I believe that every one of the teens bullied Hiccup to a certain extent, even Astrid. Although, at the end, it wasn't abuse, it was a form of flattery. I like Astrid, but I don't love her, I'm kinda in between... She's just a character to me, but I also agree with the Snotlout is under appreciated part. He's quite funny at times, even if he is rude. He has an emotional side too though, which makes me feel as if he's believable. Like book Snotty, he's jealous of Hiccup because once he was born, Snotlout was nothing compared to him. The only difference is book Snotlout keeps his emotional turmoil locked up inside until he explodes to reality in book 11. So I'm gonna take the middle of both of your extremes. |
