You know? The possible relation between the hunters and Drago has been hinted at since the official reveal of RTTE. Although, something we need to keep in mind is that this relation could also just be a "Client-Hired" type of connection. I'm pretty sure that Drago didn't get all the dragons in his army from Eret alone, considering how small his crew is compared to Viggo's. It is perfectly possible that he has hired their services once or twice, but I'm not sure if there's an ACTUAL connection between them. The main reason I don't think they're connected beyond that is because if they were, Drago will know about Hiccup before HTTYD 2.

As for the symbol... I don't think that was intentional. The only way I could change my view on this is if someone finds that symbol in HTTYD 2.

I pretty much agree with you on the relation between the dragon hunters and Drago. The only thing I would disagree with is the symbol not being intentional. I'm sure you're speaking in reference to the symbol as connection, but I would still like to make this distinction though.

That being that the symbol isn't (I don't think) intended as a connection between the 2 groups, it is intended as a jab/in jest. Specifically as a jab at Drago's full name and at Hiccups "Drago Bloodyfist" mis-naming/mis-remembering in the movie. The show was made somewhat after the second movie so they'd have ample time to come up with a small little reference like that in jest. Again I do agree with you, any connection between Drago and the hunters will be minimal at best, and the symbol plays no part in it I don't think and as far as we know(it probably never will but covering my bases here just in case ) What I am pretty certain of though, is that the symbol was created in jest as a small thing for those who pay close attention.


Also about the whole deal with traitor. I'd like to point out that this traitor doesn't have to be someone who betrays the dragon riders specifically.

I'm not sure if it's possible to bring Hiccstrid together without making it cliché as hell at this point. Yes, it'd be nice to see something original, but then I realized that almost every second movie out there is about love, so avoiding repeating a certain scenario is... well, hard. I think anything is going to be fine unless it's too ridiculous. True, they have dragons in this world; but I doubt they're going to play a bigger part in Hiccstrid bonding, considering their role in the previous seasons.

I say dragon trappers and dragon hunters are the same group, maybe two groups coordinating together. The "Client-Hired" relation doesn't make sense. Viggo is internally determined to eradicate dragons. If he was just a mercenary, he'd wouldn't give a damn about them.
