I think the season was pretty good! The riders finally had to go up against other riders, so they were picking on someone their own size. It was nice to see that they were finally challenged in combat. Also, there was a nice touch of Hiccstrid in the proposal scene.

Please no one harm me, but the twins are starting to get on my nerves. Their individual episodes about them were great though. I feel like the whole let's say something smart here gag is getting stale.
Yes, I absolutely agree with this. It was funny the one time they did it in Defenders of Berk, The Eel Effect, but I strongly think this should have been the only time they acted like this. Turning them into that kind of character, all the time, it just gets really annoying. I personally think it's not who they really are.
Astrid - "Hictooth"?
Hiccup - Yeah, it's not my snappiest comeback.

Can I please just remind everyone that the point of this topic is to discuss the season, which means people will discuss parts they like, and parts they don't like.

Not everyone (myself included) likes every single possible aspect of the new season, and they're perfectly entitled to that opinion.

Can we please continue with this discussion in a calm manor? I've removed some posts that don't add anything to the season discussion.

Yeah, I liked that too. It's been very one-sided since they started riding dragons, tbh. It's been nice to see how they work against a real threat, and particularly nice to see  refuse to harm the dragons. I loved that bit! <3

Yeah, I loved how he always stuck by his way of never hurting the dragons, and the dragons end up safe.

I wish the twins went back to their old humor, because they had some of the best lines. They still do on occasion, but I agree @hictooth. I just don't think the random intellect humor works for them. I think they're smart characters, but I've always viewed them as more misunderstood and wacky people that can actually have good ideas. Not to the point where they're now explaining intellectual and factual information to other characters all the time.

I give props to the writers of the episodes that centered around them though. Those were quite hilarious.

Yeah, I definitely agree. It was only funny the first couple times. Now they’re overdoing it. The ‘muttonhead’ version of the twins is much preferred by me, and it seems like most of you guys as well.

I noticed some little HTTYD book nods in the show again :D

The Sandbuster dragon was a lot like the Burrowing Slitherfangs in the books. They both drag you down into the sand.

In 'The Return of Thor Bonecrusher' the two outcasts that come speak to Hiccup are disguised as women and it's probably not a book nod but I love to think it is. In Book 3 (How to Speak Dragonese) two warriors come dressed as Bog Burglars( an all women tribe ) to Berk.

And the Wingmaiden tribe was pretty cool as an all women tribe like the Bog Burglars are in the books.

But...were the Wing Maidens really going to eat Snotlout, or was that just an assumption that the dragon riders made? If they are cannibals, then that episode had a really weird ending.

The best Secret Odin GIF(t) ever, made for me by DeWhite! Thank you! :D
