I think the reuse dragon designs was a bad idea... I mean did DW run out of dragon designs for Pete's sake?
Oh they should have a contest were fans can send in ideas, and then DW could pick out the best onw and convert it to Nico Marlet style. That would be so awesome. I think the fans might have a broader imagination in terms of dragon design, when DW gives us things like this (dragon above)

And I know the books are not really incorporated in the film but... Cowell has some really cool designs for some of the dragons... Frankly I'd like to see a few of those on screen.

Yeah like the drillhead one maybe (from book 6 I think).
