I'm still not sure about all of this. I can't believe that we've seen no evidence that Hiccup or Stoick even bother to question Valka given that it sure appears she could have at least tried to let them know she was alive at some time during the last 20 years. A complete, instant acceptance just doesn't seem like a very human response to that situation.

Then there's still the fact that Valka just seems too perfect, possibly to the point of marginalizing Hiccup's accomplishments. I really want this movie to be good, and still have hope that it can be, but none of these promotional clips are doing much to put my doubts to rest about certain plot elements that I'm afraid could be weaknesses.

Yeah, that, multiplied by about a hundred, and you have my reaction. That is the single cheesiest, most sugary-sweet thing I've ever seen, and I watch MLP.

Valka's too perfect, Hiccup and Stoick seem to be merely puppets to talk about how awesome she is, and I've still yet to see anyone call her out on her bovine excrement.

It's going to be a long month.
Thank you, all this happy family reunion is leaving in me a bad taste. Just the fact they seem to accept her so quickly is too odd. I mean I do understand they are happy to see her again, I really do but come on she choose living with dragons instead of living with you, it's like one of your parents decided to leave your family and decides his/her work is more important than her family. Anyone will be initially happy to see her again but you need to call her for leaving you and make you feel like you can't trust her, she might idk fell in love of living in the sea and leave you again for that.
I'm sorry I'm just frustrated cause of this easy acceptance

Maybe they don't except her quickly... let's just watch the movie first. ^_^

(I'll be flooding the theater...)

What should I write on my signature? Hmm...
I am a Httyd, Gravity Falls and Portal (One and two) fan.
I'm also a bookworm and an introvert.
That was pretty random, but that's me summed up in two sentences.

I don't recommend getting your hopes up in that regard.
Number of times I've watched the trailer: 18.

My pet peeve: people who refer to complete strangers by their first name. The correct ways to refer to a "John Smith" whom you have never met are Smith, Mr Smith, or John Smith. Not "John". He's not your buddy.

What a novel idea that some just don't seem to be able to grasp.

To be fair, there are people who have seen the first hour or so of the film. I would wager that would be enough to get Hiccup and Stoick's early reactions to Valka. Therefore, those people could accurately judge whether Hiccup and Stoick accept Valka too quickly. And of course, summaries of that first hour are not particularly difficult to find, so plenty of other people could, in principle, make a judgement that would probably prove fairly accurate (of course, whether or not any particular individual making such a judgement has read such a summary is another matter entirely).

With that said, I suppose making statements based on such knowledge could be considered a violation of the "no discussion of the Wondercon screening" rule.
