I don't think it's right for people to be making claims like that. That's going to start a big controversy among animation fans and the other companies. I'm sure the movie will be great, but I doubt it'll win that award.
"There's something you must remember when riding a dragon. There's no manual, no safety harness, no guarantees when you're on one of these beasts. All you have is the wind in your hair, and the clothes on your back. The only thing between you and that dragon is your saddle. You need to hold onto it for dear life, as that creature takes you the skies. That, is dragon riding."

Oh it'll never WIN the best picture award (because the Academy has always considered animation an inferior medium to live action), but I don't see a problem with people saying that it should be NOMINATED for it. Even if it generates controversy, that's still free advertisement for the movie. That, to me, is a good thing. Especially given that it's already getting mostly very good reviews.

I guess. I hate the academy awards. Half the animated movies made are better than the live action ones. They're so snobby.

if I remember well the best animated movie category was made to avoid this case scenario, but, in any case, I don't think it will be nominated best picture, best animated picture definetly though I can't garantee it's going to win.
Personally i'm rooting for HTTYD3 to win everything (of course if they handle the plot correctly and are careful with the "mistakes" they did in the previous ones) -> kind of pulling a ROTK
Is Now or Never.
I already lost my hopes in HTTYD3 winning the awards. No matter how AMAZING it is. I doubt that they won't give it to Finding Dory. Pixar is so overrated loved by them.

SEE. THIS is why I HATE the Oscars.

They care only about watching popular movies or companies...

Honestly, I wouldn't get too confident about Finding Dory winning the 2016 Best Animated Picture Oscar. Remember, the Academy didn't even nominate Monsters University.
Number of times I've watched the trailer: 18.

My pet peeve: people who refer to complete strangers by their first name. The correct ways to refer to a "John Smith" whom you have never met are Smith, Mr Smith, or John Smith. Not "John". He's not your buddy.

But that happened because it wasn't a movie written or directed by Andrew Stanton.

I saw someone saying on Brave's imdb, that the Academy members are divided by category. And that the majority of the voters of the Best Animated Feature are Pixar AND Disney employees.
