OO this is getting good

Chapter 30

 

Valka's POV
"This is all your fault, Valka! Why did you have to let yourself get captured?! You could have helped us escape!'
I wasn't listening to Eret; I was staring at the unconscious bodies of Aldin and Cloudjumper, seething in furious sadness at Drago's cruelty. I longed to wake them up, to free them from the bolas ropes, that were so tight they were cutting into their scales.
'You think you're so perfect, Valka! But do you know what your flaw is? You care more about others than you do yourself! Leave the dragons! We're more important than them! We need to escape!'
"And how exactly would we do that?' I asked him sarcastically. 'We're trapped in a bolas!'
'I know, but if I just had my sword with me, I could cut through the ropes. Too bad Drago took our weapons.'
A sudden idea came to me. But before I could tell Eret, Drago came up to us.
"Who wants to die first?' he asked, taking his dragon hand out of his cape.
Eret swallowed hard.
'I will.'
Drago cut his ropes with the claws on his dragon hand.
As soon as he was free, Eret ran over to the edge of the ship, staring down into the black depths of the water.
'That is too quick an end for you, boy.' Drago snarled, whacking Eret in the face with his metal dragon arm, the claws cutting into the dragon trapper's soft flesh. Eret fell onto the deck. Drago pressed his claws to Eret's throat.
'But this is not.'
Aldin made a noise, which sounded like the faintest suggestion of a hiss.
