The movie still looks really promising, but this trailer honestly threw me for a loop because it changed the whole direction of what I was assuming about the plot. I thought that there would be some internal conflict for Hiccup choosing between Valka's seemingly free life with the dragons and Stoick's life of duty and responsibility. Now it suddenly looks like they come back together as a happy family and fight Drago together. I wasn't expecting that.

I absolutely thought that was what the movie was going to be about. I thought Stoick finding out Hiccup was training (I use this word in a more relaxed sense, but she is teaching him about dragons) with Valka was going to be a conflict.

I definitely though Valka was going to act a bit more uncomfortable/shy around people and being seen after so long. But I'm not critiquing I'm just surprised. Although Stoick is more certainly not just another person.

Thats what I thought as well because I could have sworn I read that somewhere. I was actually really excited for that aspect. Feeling like you're being forced to choose between two parents is a really emotional situation that I know a lot of people can relate to including myself. It would have been really neat to see Hiccup go through something similar. Hopefully the trailer is just misleading on that front.

As someone with divorced parents all her life, I most definitely connect with what you are saying. Although I don't want to project my own selfish wants to a movie, the struggle would have been very interesting to see. There might possibly be one? I know we were only shown glimpses of the movie, so hopefully he has a small internal conflict -runs hands through hair- but I don't know the fact that Hiccup showed his father is really telling about their current relationship and I rather like that Hiccup doesn't have to keep secrets from him.

I'm very afraid for Valka's dragon sanctuary. Sorry, mildly random thought to bring up. But it's such a lovely place and she seems so comfortable there. I'd hate to see it get destroyed.

You did realize that Eret was with Snotlout, Gobber, Ruffnut and Tuffnut when they threw the sheep at the evil Bewilderbeest right? So it means that he turns around and turns good eventuall;y. Or at least helps the main guys out.

Perhaps after all those scenes we just saw, they ask her to come back to Berk and she refuses for whatever reason, and expects Hiccup to stay with her? That could create some internal conflict. Just spitballing here, mostly wishful thinking lmao.

For the life of me, I cannot remember where but I do recall reading about how Hiccup rubs off on Eret a bit. Does anyone know the article/post I am talking about? He is mildly impressed and impacted by Hiccup and it strongly hits a change of tides.

Yeah I noticed her crying the first time and I belive it has soly to do with how shocked she is that Stoick doesn't hate her. Sine I'm guessing thats what she is worried about in this scene.
