I think it was just a normal scar, but it's an interesting theory. I really hope Hiccup gets the slavemark in book 3. 1. It's cool and 2. A nod to the books.
He does get it in the books? I have no idea what you are saying, because he does get it.
Pretty sure they meant third movie

^ thats what I was thinking, I remember dean saying hiccup might get it so I think he'd be the most obvious victim. which would suck for him now that he's chief. but I want somebody to get it at least, just because I think the slavemark is a really cool idea. i don't know why they'd introduce Eret's scar and then never bring it up again.
Or Drago could give it to someone Hiccup cares about and finally send Hiccup over the edge emotionally.
Astrid? :(
Toothless? But Astrid would certainly be enough to send Hiccup over the edge, but honestly I think Valka would be the best bet. She's been fighting Drago for years.

Imagine if it was all of Berk who received the Slavemark?

hmm..I think if Drago wanted to punish Hiccup, he would punish Hiccup himself. Drago doesn't really seem like the kind of villain to use "emotional blackmail". He'd use a punishment that was cruel and straight to the point.

It depends. We really don't know much about Drago so he could very well be the type of emotionally stunted villain who believes physical pain is the greatest form of punishment. But we also know he had a village and a family once, and lost them, so it's also possible he realizes that for some people, the greater punishment is seeing people they love suffer.
Hiccup: Dragons are kind, amazing creatures that can bring people together
Drago: Or tear them apart...

What would that mean for hiccup and the village if he were to get the slavemark, now that he's chief? Who would take over in his banishment? Astrid? Obviously he can't stay banished forever, how would he be accepted back in to the tribe? I can't see them doing it the same way as the books, since in the books it was more like ink rather than a branding right? They can't have people willingly burning themselves, that'd be a bit much...

I think that Drago really is that kind of villain that's so emotionally stunted that he only knows (or recognizes) emotions like pain, misery, anger, anguish, those kinds of feelings. I can see him using someone else to get to Hiccup, though. I think he sees people as objects that he can use and manipulate, just like dragons.

I that would almost over complicate things.
