Is there a chance that Valka knew about the Light Fury? Or at least heard of stories about it?

It's possible, but they did say that Light Furies are pretty rare and elusive, so I'd guess she hasn't seen one personally.

Well, according to the second trailer, Astrid and Hiccup did indeed pick the name Light Fury on the spot.

Also, we know Stoick is seen in a flashback
