Vlad was apprehensive but realized she was right. It would be better for both of them if he did as she said. He hated running but he had no choice, He ran just into the tree-line with the book and peered out from behind the tree he was hiding to see what was going on. The Scauldron noticed the book in his hands and, ignoring Pandora, ran towards him. Vlad was rooted with fear in the stop which he stood. The Scauldron reached him and reared it head, emitting a loud roar. It was just about to boil him alive when it stopped. It looked at him now curiously rather than angrily. It began sniffing him. Vlad couldn't move. He was scared out of his wits. The Scauldron then sat and looked at him questioningly. Even though he didn't know why, he told the now placid Scauldron what had happened to him since this morning and why he needed the book. The Scauldron seemed to listen intently as if understanding every word. By the end of it the Scauldron looked as though it felt sorry for him. Then it did the strangest thing. It bowed to him. He was unsure of what to do but instinctively reached out his hand towards the Scauldron. It stopped for a few seconds before pressing it's moist nose into his palm. He had tamed a Scauldron. |

Pandora ran following the scualdron. She was about to throw an ice spear at it when she saw it stop and then bow after a while. She walked the rest of the way. "Well, I guess you've made a friend. Now let's see what that book says." Pandora said. |

Vlad couldn't believe it. He was the first person on Berk to ever tame a Scauldron. "What should I name him?" he asked Pandora as she approached. He petted the Scauldron as it continued to sit and lay its head flat on the ground next to him. "What about Scauldy?" He yurned to the dragon. "Scauldy?" The dragon perked up at the sound of the name and licked his face with his rather warm tongue. "Scauldy it is! You like that boy?" The dragon suddenly held it's head up indignantly. "But I thought you liked it?" he protested "Come on now boy," The dragon huffed once more. [Let Pandora overhear and be like "It's a girl waterbrain or something like that.  ]

Kaj followed Hiccup and Meyla into the small house. "Well this is it," she stated, "it's small but it's just me so I don't mind..." Kaj grinned, "bigger than any place I've ever had." "Sooo I think Stoick will be by soon to check on you. Your the talk of the town- the cold boy that fell from the sky." Kaj was still observing his surroundings but nodded. "I guess you already know I'm a bender." "An air bender? What are the chances..." Meyla travelled off. Kaj sighed. "I hate to say this now, but you guys need to get prepared for battle." "Why? They might not be here for a few days." "Yes but... I left because I heard the leaders meeting... They said they would leave that night. That was three days ago, if my days are right. They could be here any minute." |

Pandora heard what Vlad called the scauldron and ignored him, seeing as she didn't want to make things awkward. "Book please." Pandora said. |

He handed over the book while he tried to reason with Scauldy. "Ughhh stop being such a girl," he complained. The Scauldrons head lashed around and Scauldy seemed to roll his eyes as if to say 'duh!' Understanding dawned on him. "Oh you are a girl!" The dragon nodded, glad that he had finally got it. "Sorry," he muttered. Scauldy lowered her head and he resumed petting her while Pandora took out the book. |

Pandora melted the ice on the book after a while. She opened it and read the first page. "Well, I think that since I'm going to be your teacher, I'm going to read a while and I'll leave you to get to know uh...Scauldy." She said. |

Vlad looked up at her. "Hey I wanna read too," he complained "Scauldy can read as well, won't you girl?" he said turning to the dragon who nodded obediently. She seemed very smart to Vlad who wouldn't be surprised if she understood everything he just said. "Just try not to drip," he said to her chuckling. |
