I thought it was a bit short, but it didn't bother me
I agree with that. It was too short and should be longer, but it didn't mean, that the movie was bad. I can even say, that Dean perfectly fit the whole story in ~ 90 minutes.

I agree! ;)
"There's something you must remember when riding a dragon. There's no manual, no safety harness, no guarantees when you're on one of these beasts. All you have is the wind in your hair, and the clothes on your back. The only thing between you and that dragon is your saddle. You need to hold onto it for dear life, as that creature takes you the skies. That, is dragon riding."

I think the first hour or so of the movie is truly perfect and could not possibly have done anything better (except for the flashbacks which were not a good choice and may or may not fall in to that first half but i cant remember), but the last like half hour was too much for too little time... the movie either needed to be longer, should have saved some of itself for the third movie, or should have had a complete rewrite on the last act entirely. Eret and Valka are two really cool characters and its a shame that they didn't get to do much by the end of the movie because there wasn't enough time for anything else.

Terrible Terror

I noticed a couple of things that say much about Eret without words :
- at some point he holds his hand to his chest, where the scar is hidden, when Drago is mentioned, showing his trauma and the power that Drago has used over him
- his eyes widening and mouth opening when, on his ship, Hiccup confronts his father. Maybe it's something he's never dared do with his own father. So, yeah, he probably never got a chance to make his own path, and unfortunately, he ended up working for Drago, but never approved his actions.

I'm sure he's going to be a great man now he's in a great team !

I really think that they should have made the movie longer. The ending of the movie seemed to be a little bit rushed. They were trying to fit so much in too little time. They definitely need to either make the movie longer, put some unneeded stuff into shorts or other videos, or put it into the next movie. But overall, I think they did a mostly okay job with timing and spacing.
everything is better with flower crowns!

Yeah, I kinda agree. I wasn't crazy about the very end when Hiccup was making his speech. Everything went by too quick to see it all.

I agree. I'm thinking the reason why Drago had such a power over him is because his father might have had some sort of power over him as a kid.(Not abusive, but just powerful)

I can't wait to see what will happen to him now.:D

I don't remenber where, Dean Deblois mentioned that HTTYD 2 is very much like Empire Strikes Back.
On that note, Eret is most certainly the Lando Calrissian of the franchise. I hope he'll get enven more heroics moments in the thrid film.
