I guess it depends on how it'll go...
"She's my princess and whatever she wants, she gets."
"Ruffnut? Didn't she bury you alive?"
"Ah. Only for a few hours."

It really depends on how the third movie will turn out, but I don't think that there should be more than three movies for now. Make the third movie, give it a good ending, and maybe do a few more seasons of the show (past season 3) just to keep the franchise alive. If there's still demand for another movie 3, 4, 5, etc years after HTTYD3, then make a fourth one. I just don't think it is good for the plot development of the third movie if they are already thinking about a fourth.
"Thank you for summing that up."

There are no dragons at the end of the book series and we all know the book and movie share the same style ending so what would be the point of a fourth movie?

Maybe they will make a movie about the Stoick-Valka time...
*Imagines*
Stoick, Gobber AND Alvin are young vikings, they meet Valka, Stoick falls in love with Valka (and maybe Alvin too), maybe we will see Gobber with a boyfriend, they defeat Berk from the Dragons, maybe we will see Toothless in his young ages too, Valka gets abducted by Cloudjumper, she meets the Bewilderbeast and the Dragon Sanctuary (or maybe they are building it at that time)

Katz just wants Dragons to do the cheap trick every other franchise is doing these days and split the last movie in to two for no good reason other than money. As much as I would love for this franchise to go on forever, Dean has said repeatedly that he wants to tell the story in three parts and it should stay that way.

I HATE that movies are doing the split of the last mvoie almost all the time now. Ugh... If DW does that with HTTTYD3 I will be pissed.

i dont think my avatar is working but ehh

I was excited when they said they were doing a sequel, but when a third film was announced, I was worried about the franchise.

I love dragons and all, but

[big]I AM ABSOLUTELY AGAINST A FOURTH FILM[/big]

It's going to ruin the series.
i'm not very active anymore!! it's sad, but i'll come back sometimes to feel nostalgic ahaha

I said it before, but I am going to say it again :)

I don`t like the idea of a fourth film that takes place after the third film.
But what they can do is to follow another character or dragon before the trilogy takes place.
What about a story following Bork the bold as he discovers new dragons all over the vikingworld and maybe beyond. They are doing this with the Harry potter universe I think, by making "Fantastic beasts and where to find them" into a series of films. Here we follow a man who reaserchs and finds mythological beasts ( kinda like the dragonworlds Bork the Bold). This wouyld neighter be a prequel or sequel to the films, but a standalone film(s) in the same world!

What do you guys think? :)

I'd like this to happen, even if the fourth one is bad and the franchise looses quality. After all you don't see the franchise, you see the individual movies and they will remain as good as they always were.
