I am a little bit afraid of dogs since one bite me when I was little.

Didn't he got is scar from a dragon? Would explain why he was afraid of them. :D

Yeah, exactly, Dean DeBlois said in an early interview that we will learn how he got his scar. :)

I've always noticed his scar, even in the first movie and wondered about the story behind it. Its kinda amusing how much more its being noticed for this movie. and it does look like the animators tried to make it a little more noticeable.
