Kind of ironic that we're all here to celebrate a film about not hating what you don't understand and accepting those who are different from us, yet here we are, arguing about whether or not the franchise has been ruined because they decided to show a little diversity.

I personally am not arguing. I believe everyone has a right to their own opinions, even if I think those people are wrong. I still respect them. I have a gay best friend, my mom's longtime best friend is a lesbian, and (surprise!) I myself have had a few girlfriends. So I don't see the big deal. Dad gave me the hetero and homo sex talk. To me it's normal. So that's why I am open about it. Like someone said earlier, it is how the child is raised.
That kind of openness and acceptance is exactly what the movie was about, I'm referring to the people (you know who you are) who have been saying things like "I don't believe in being gay", "I don't agree with gay people", "I'm going to pray harder for gay people because they need it", "This is not something that belongs in a childrens film", etc etc etc. Like... Did you even WATCH the first movie? Because, yikes.... you seriously missed the point, big time.


inb4 somebody tells me I'm a hypocrite because I'm oppressing their right to be a homophobe.

Thank you. It drives me nuts sometimes, and I stick by my belief that everyone has a right to their opinions, but can't they be respectful about it? You can't just go around saying "Homosexuality is a crime against God" Yes the Bible does says homosexuality is a sin. But so is premarital sex, divorce, and having a child out of wedlock. But I am going to stop right there, so no arguments break out! Happier subjects await!

If my understanding is correct, while they can think that, they do not have the right to express that. I'm pretty sure that it matches the criteria for having the Freedom of Speech denied (As i guess it could, technically, be deemed "obscenity" or even, at a push, "defamation")

Okay, I have nothing against gays, but I don't think that he (Dean) needed to add Craig's little ad-lib into the movie. What if a parent hasn't told their child(ren) about homosexuals yet, and Gobber saying that line makes kids ask their parents what it means? What are they supposed to say!?

I think it was a bad decision. Makes me not want to see the movie.

Personally children are to damn stupid to figure out something so unobvious as the little quote like that. And really? You can't watch it now? Ugh.....

I don't think he learned he was gay as much as he realized after a bit of time and was like "Ok this isn't the normal route for us vikings but I don't care."

(And yes it is true that homomsexuality wasn't a thing Vikings cared for all that much since their mindset was mainly on reproduction and stuff. And if you are wondering this is true since somebody stated it here on Tumblr: http://dyannehs.tumblr.com/post/8606654 ... ee-version)
