So, before I go and see the movie, I was wondering if I should watch it in RealD-3D or Imax? Which one has better quality and sound and which one has better 3D effects? Thanks for your help! |

IMAX 3D is vastly superior to RealD. I'm sure other people will give a better explanation as to why though, so I'll leave it to them. |

That depends on many things. Normally, IMAX is always better, because it is digitally remastered (audio and video) and the screen is much bigger. The resolution is also up to 16 times bigger than in a normal cinema. IMAX cinemas has mostly high end audio equipment (around 6x 4x10 inch subwoofers, a high center speaker). But it have to be a real IMAX, not a 'liemax' (IMAX license, but no IMAX equipment). You can reckognize real IMAX cinemas on the 1:1.34 screen ratio. RealD is just a name for the standard polarized filter technology used in the most cinemas. |

Love your signature. I'm not sure...I don't like RealD-3D/3D in general, and Imax is 2D right? *Stupid Alert! Stupid Alert! I am stupid!* |

Thanks, but it isn't a joke. ![]() That depends also on the cinema, but the most IMAX cinemas shows only in 3D. But it will be an awesome experience, because the 3D is also remastered for big screens and the double projection technology is perfect. |

IMAX 3D is the best, you should agree on this Zer0X, higher resolution is gold worth, right? ![]() |

Depends on the viewing distance and the screen size. When the pixels are smaller than one arcsecond, you won't see a difference. |

Yeah, IMAX 3D is the best at the moment... And I think you don't see a big difference between RealD-3D and 2D... Ok, maybe all the movies I saw had crappy RealD-3D, dunno... xD |
